While I pay for it, I'm happy to pay to centralize my email in a Zimbra web interface without advertising and with superior server-side spam/virus protection at $3.99/mo for a personal account with http://www.01.com

If Yahoo! introduces Zimbra as the back-end for its mail, I think many people will get turned on to what an excellent technology Zimbra is, especially when using Firefox 3, which reduces load time to basically not noticed. Yahoo! *has* to do a better job of promoting its stellar products. Showcase, baby!

I agree, it's great to have to same email address for a long time. That's why there's still bunch of people on AOL and people don't understand why.

I do use Google Apps with rebron@gmail.com. I did try Google Apps w/ own domain name with a different domain and it's pretty cool. I didn't like rebron@rebron.org or me@rebron.org. If it was rafael@ebron.org that might have made sense but got used to rebron for too long.

Why don't you use Google Apps? Have gmail, but use your own domain name. That way you keep your address if you move your mail elsewhere.

That's what I've done for nearly a decade. It's great always having the same email address.
