Sins 2.0

Tags: Everyday Life — 12:54 pm

*sigh* The Vatican web site.

The “new” seven social sins are:

  • Bioethical violations such as birth control
  • Morally dubious experiments such as stem cell research
  • Drug abuse
  • Polluting the environment
  • Contributing to widening divide between rich and poor
  • Excessive wealth
  • Creating poverty

The original deadly sins:

  • Pride
  • Envy
  • Gluttony
  • Lust
  • Anger
  • Greed
  • Sloth

  1. It’s good to see the Vatican “advancing” with modern times. Welcome to the 21st century?

  2. Uh, nos. 4-7 are the same thing. One cannot follow No. 1 without committing Nos. 5 and 7. Not to mention that Nos. 1 -2 are some examples of why the Church continues to bleed parishioners. Interestingly, “child abuse” and “denigration of women” didn’t make it onto the “new” list of sins. Hmmm. Wonder why. Vatican’s Sin 2.0: same shit, different century.
