Tucson, intro

Tags: Browser Garage — 6:26 pm

Tucson, Arizona is an interesting City.  I almost stopped by last year as there was a pow wow at the University of Arizona.  That pow wow and the one hosted by Arizona State University in Tempe are both supposed to be pretty good.

Tucson is about 100 miles past (southeast) Phoenix.  Phoenix is a nice place, a little hot and I missed the Hoop Dance competition again over at the Heard Museum this year (on February 9th).   The second place winner this year, Brian Hammill, is from the Ho-Chunk tribe.  At this rate with my training, I might be in the same tribe.

  1. Yo… I was in Tucson last weekend with Hauth for 4-5 days of training camp. Cold in February though! Nice climbing Mt. Lemmon, or at least the first 18 miles of it for me, on Monday. Most of the group did 21 miles. Let me clarify that is miles up… then we descended. Probably not near as fast as Lance used to do! Adding in the 4 miles from the start it took me 2:45 to get up to mile 18 (22 total) then under one hour to return!
